Corporate Funders & Patrons

Patronage

The concept of the patron originated in the medieval and Renaissance times, during which artists were afforded protection and sponsorship by nobles and merchant princes. The fostering of the arts in any healthy society is not a luxury‚ it is a moral imperative. In the case of Ifa Lethu, the application of a specific category of South African art to the social healing process adds greater significance to this moral imperative. In addition, the development of creative entrepreneurs is a stated government objective and enriches our future heritage. Many corporate patrons of the arts in South Africa have already enhanced their reputations immeasurably through their sponsorships. Ifa Lethu offers the opportunity for funders, patrons and sponsors to participate in one of the most meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in South Africa. Many opportunities exist for funding of individual projects, programmes and activities – whether that be in services, consultancy or financial forms.
